It is amazing how strong the pull from outside the home becomes when there isn’t anything potentially dramatic and exciting keeping me inside. For the hell of it, I decided to take the kids out to lunch at a locally owned diner. It did occur to me, for a moment, that going out to [...]

i took max and bella to the beach on monday, with two friends and their children (we totaled a pack of nine). we had a picnic lunch at an old and crusted wooden table before heading out to claim our spot in the sand. as we were setting our things down, and the rented umbrella [...]

i received a phone call from katie this morning, inviting us out to the beach. i knew i wanted to take the kids somewhere and had been trying to decide, mostly leaning towards a trip out to our local state park. the phone call was perfectly timed.
and, to make it even better, this was bella’s [...]

Hal went back to work this past Monday, which means, so did I. We have been moving our way back into a workable weekly rhythm. Well, more like *I’m* working on getting used to being around Max and Bella without the moment to moment support of their papa. It’s a little challenging, [...]

Turns out, Max did have a post virus rash. WHEW! I’m happy to report that the pediatrician visit on Friday, was not stressful. Both the kids were well behaved and charmed the staff with their manners and antics. Taking them places is slowly but surely getting easier.
Finding out that Max was in the clear of [...]

I took Max and Bella to Liz’s house today for a visit. It was a short and sweet visit with their honorary Auntie upon which Max received a birthday gift. Since my children have both gotten older, I have become more relaxed while in homes that are not homes of another toddler. However, I was [...]

We went out to Hunsader Farm today for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Waiting to park was like waiting to get into Disney. During that hour, I got to know Papa Hal a little better. One thing is for certain about relationships, never assume the way it is, is actually the way it is – even [...]
